$2695 So far on the first day, not a bad start!

I am overwhelmed by the generosity of so many great people on the first day collecting money for Nicole's rehab. For people to take money out of their budgets during the recovery really gives me hope that we can do this and get Nicole through the rest of the year working on being able to hopefully get out of bed on her own one day. Maybe she can walk with special braces as she builds muscle on her good side and stops the emaciation of her muscles on her former good side which is now completely usesless except being able to feel pain, wtf?! Perhaps now she can work with a good speech therapist for more than a couple weeks being healthy and practice skills that will help her get out basic things that she knows in her head but can't express like her name, her age, her phone number perhaps, we will never know if she doesn't work on it. They say sometimes the right side of the brain can compensate for loss on the lower left side which controls speech and word/motion expression. Her brain can't even tell her left hand (now good hand) which way to point if you say "point at the window". It's funny though, sometimes she can express herself involuntarily and it flows out like a river! We have all seen it happen enough to know that it's in there and she just needs help getting it out. I hope this information is interesting. I plan to write more about it but I am completely shot from and emotional day.
